Where've We Been?

After two years of surgeries, we have been back on the road for a full spring and summer of ministry to the ranch and rodeo world. Many of you have not heard from us, because all our focus has been on getting back to, and being on the road. Even those of you who have e-mail have only had one communication this year.

Your patience, perseverance and persistence in supporting and praying for us through this time has continually been a source of overwhelming gratitude. So we wanted to let you know what God has been doing not only in our lives, but in the lives of those to who He has directed us to go to.

Brief Glimpse of 1999

In September of 1999, the second hip was put in, after a 6-week "learning experience" for all of us, on how to live without a right hip. The second try at putting in the hip was amazingly successful thanks to the healing power of Christ, and our anointed doctor. Paul is doing incredible now, physically. Many people ask us, and yes, he does still have a limp, but the pain is gone and the hip is healed. Just rebuilding the muscles that have been unused now for two years is taking time.

In October of 1999, we were able to go to two fall rodeos for ministry in Minot, ND and Kansas City, MO, though Paul was still on crutches. The rest of the winter and spring were still a time of recovery even as we went to the Denver Stock Show in January, and El Paso, TX for Cowboy Church Services in February. Not only Paul, but our whole family learned that you just don't jump back into things with both feet after four operations!

Linda was able to be part of several trickriding clinics throughout March, April and May to assist Karen Vold while "planting the seed" of the Gospel to many students who came to learn trickriding at the Vold Trickriding School.

May, June, July and August were filled with involvement in 7 FCC Rodeo Bible Camps. We would have to say that we feel these have been a phenomenal way to share Christ and start a platform for discipleship for these young believers. In "amongst" all these camps we went to the Santa Fe, NM and Prescott, AZ rodeos where Linda trickrode, as a door for the opportunity for us to be able to minister during the rodeos and Cowboy Church Services.

September saw us in Amarillo, TX and I am writing this now, as we are finishing the rodeo back in Minot, ND, then heading for the American Royal Rodeo in Kansas City.

Our New Home

One of the newest excitements we have to tell you about, is that God has opened up the way for us to buy our own place. It is 58-acres, just 18-miles east of Pueblo. So between ministry dates, we have been in the process of moving. At one time it was a racehorse training stables, so, along with the house, there is a 12-stall barn with a large old apartment that can be used as a saddle shop. There is also a setup for three arenas that needs LOTS of work. The whole place has been let go for several years, but everthing is structurally sound, just in need of a few years to get it to what we envision.

We were able to close at the end of May, and as PR is now in college here in Pueblo, Paul and I were able to take off on another summer of ministry as usual as we left the homefront in the capable hands of our "segundo"! It is so incredible to see how God is working at this new stage of our life, and also to be able to come "home" between ministry installments, to a place that He has prepared for us at this time in our lives!!!

New STL Truck

God provided a new "Speed The Light" pick up in September for us to use in our ministry because the old one finally quit. It had about 275,000 miles on it. Without our Speed The Light vehicle, we could not carry out our calling to the rodeo ministry around the country. Praise the Lord for faithfulness and for all the people who give to Speed The Light. Thank You!!

New Phone Number

To the many of you who have wondered, Yes, we are still keeping our same P.O. Box and mailing address, though our physical address has changed. Our new phone number is 719.947.0436. Our e-mail address and web site remain the same if you want to contact us by that means.

In His Grip,

Paul, Linda and P.R.
